HVAC/Hydronic Service Technician

Job Summary

Operates, diagnoses, maintains, and repairs HVAC and Hydronic systems and equipment for Total Plumbing and Heating residential and light commercial  clients.

Essential Job Function

  • Operates and diagnoses HVAC and Hydronic systems and equipment up to 10 tons cooling capacity and 2 million BTU’s heating capacity
  • Monitors system’s operation to ensure efficiency and compliance with specifications, Total Plumbing and Heating procedures, and local codes.
  • Responsible for client satisfaction with all client / projects assigned; Interprets drawings and schematics; Tests HVAC and Hydronic equipment for proper operation.
  • Verifies equipment registrations and installations are per local, state and federal codes
    • Maintains and repairs HVAC and Hydronic equipment and systems
    • Performs recurring maintenance on systems and components
    • Uses drawings and schematics to analyze and isolate malfunctions
    • Troubleshoots systems using manufacturer’s handbook
  • Familiar with or be willing to learn State, Federal and Local codes for Denver and/or other local municipalities
  • Ensures compliance with environmental regulations of fuels, refrigerants and other hazardous materials
  • Repairs or replaces components
  • Complete all required paperwork on the jobsite
  • Maintains shop tools and equipment
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle in accordance with the Total Plumbing and Heating policy and procedures manual
  • NATE Certification is recommended
  • Universal EPA Refrigerant License required
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • HVAC technical school two year degree or certificate recommended
  • High school diploma/ G.E.D. Required
  • 3 years relevant experience recommended
  • Must be approved to drive per Total Plumbing and Heating insurance carrier
  • Highly motivated and independent self-starter
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work on call when needed
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Great customer service skills

Drain Technician

Job Summary
Address the clients drain concerns, thoroughly inspect the drain system, provide suggestions and feedback to the client, expertly clear, clean and/or repair all identified issues. Completes all necessary paperwork.
Essential Job Functions
  • User sewer cameras and sewer locators to determin options
  • Complete all required documentation on service and may collect, record and deliver fees to office
  • Participate in meetings and training as necessary
  • Support the total quality effort. Identify and respond to the needs of internal and external clients 100% of the time
  • Work within the guidelines of the safety and employee policy
  • Responsible for maintaining knowledge of local and national codes and industry standards
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that will best represent the company to others
  • Start work on time with the required hand tools and personal protective equipment to perform the job safely and productively
  • Clean and clear drains suing cable machines, hydro jetters and augers
  • Minor plumbing service and repair
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school graduate/GED with appropriate 4 year apprenticeship certificate or 4 years of field experience
  • Clean driving record
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of plumbing systems
  • Working knowledge of all relevant national and local codes and company and industry standards.
  • Must possess and maintain licenses that are required in the jurisdictions that you are working.

Residential Plumber

Job Summary

Serve clients by expertly repairing and replacing plumbing systems.  Focus on technical excellence, communicating each service performed to clients, explaining the service and maintenance upon completion.

Essential Job Functions

  • Install sanitary systems, water systems, fuel systems, fixtures and equipment
  • Assist your supervisor with material ordering, lay-out deliveries, subcontractors and apprentice
  • Complete a project from start to finish or help another plumber with their project
  • Start work on time with the required hand tools and PPE to perform the job safely and productively
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that will best represent the company to others
  • Assume responsibility in designated areas of the project
  • Participate in meetings and training as necessary
  • Train apprentices, check quality control through clear instructions and follow up later
  • Establish goals and meet schedules through planning and helping to motivate the crew
  • Use of all tools, equipment and skills necessary for the complete installation of projects common to the plumbing industry.
  • Have the minimal tools as required by the company in his/her possession.
  • Responsible for physical jobsite organization and housekeeping to ensure a safe professional work area.
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining necessary licensing/certification for performing work in areas where such is required.

Service Dispatcher

Job Summary
This position manages all incoming calls to service to determine their priority and respond accordingly. This position will be required to communicate any changes in schedule to the client immediately.
Essential Job Functions
  • Determine which service technician can be dispatched according to client requests, specifications or needs
  • Relay work orders, messages or information to service technicians
  • Inform clients of any schedule changes or delays
  • Share knowledge or problematic issues with dispatch supervisor or service supervisors
  • Manage the dispatch board to account for all personnel at all times
  • Maintain the Service E-mail address for incoming work requests, estimates, and billings
  • Respond to the base Cell Phone incoming calls and text messages in a timely manner
  • Maintain the dispatch system, coordination of all paperwork associated with the service call, proper filing and distribution of information
  • Manage the preventative maintenance program on a monthly basis, as required
  • Maintain warranty logs monthly
  • Respond daily to the on call sheet for potential emergency and normal services
  • Establish 5 service call follow ups weekly and turn into the Dispatch Supervisor
  • Make decisions as necessary within the realm of knowledge and responsibility
  • Participate in continuous improvement of self-skills, processes, procedures and methods to deliver exceptional client services
  • Work within the guidelines of the safety and employee policy
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school graduate/GED required
  • Prefer dispatch experience in a high paced environment, ability to manage multiple calls at once
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Solid problem analysis and problem solving skills
  • Effective communication with people at different levels
